Hi
well we have been in india for a while now we arrived in delhi on 6th Dec and went straight to e visa exit beware you can be fooled into going to wrong passport control here , if you have e visa just proceed a little bit further thru airport and follow signs for evisa once stamped and finger prints are taken you are thru to collect your bags which have been waiting for a while because you take at least an hour at passport control
once thru we then qued to get our rupees which are limited for a while until the new currency notes are introduced probably till January
We found delhi a real eye opener with traffic and crowds everywhere but after a day exploring you get used to it ,
I feel that india is very money orientated and at the moment india seems very expensive
india travel on a budget like ours be prepared to go over your daily amount as tourist sites we have been to are 500 rupees each even eating out is not cheap a simple meal and drink for 2 adults adults 1 child is 1000 rupees
next we went to agra by car about 3 hour drive on toll roads but very modern motorway but still crazy drivers we arrived early evening into town which is now in full flow for wedding season which lasts for about 3 months you see colour full wedding venues with groomes on horses and bands playing and guests dressed up in bright outfits filling the streets with crowds ,so be prepared for a noisy night sleep if you stay near these venues
we arrived at taj mahal early after a good breakfast which W’s included in our hotel , makes a big difference on a budget at the taj it is so crowded again tourists need to pay more than locals ,here you get pestered by hawkers or guides offering services
it was a shame that the weather was so foggy this day that it did not do the taj mahal justice but the 7th wonder of the world was still worth the fee to enter
the next day we went exploring the town again and a few temples had a early night ready for our early start to jaipur this was a 5 hour trip because of the roads which were not the best .we arrived at our hotel which was really nice
We then went out to explore ,it was amazing as there was a festival for the Muslim community and so many people and bands playing and street food every where we ate cheap this night less than 300 rupees so dad was happy ,we went back to the hotel and from our rooftop bar we could see all the festival without the hassle of people asking where your from or you want to see or buy here I was able to have a beer
