I am 55 years old and love to travel

final few weeks before we go

well it finally arrived count down to us leaving, its been a hard few months working away from home trying to sort out everything, but we have got there

our vaccinations are done ,a expensive thing to do but as we are going to so many different countries we decided to get everything see photos for our passport injections

next was the hardest part getting jo to declutter she has had all year but decided to start yesterday but fair play she is doing it slowly  ,doing our daughters room was hard because she wanted everything,but i got her to agree to send things to a children,s home for other children to get the benefit of her toys

we have  got all our gear now  nice sandles for walking we bought merrel vibram for all of us they are waterproof and so comfortable, we also bought waterproof bags for our rucksacks

we have don a trial run of packing and have got it down to a final list ,you can see on our things to take page

or flight are booked for india sri lanka and thailand along with visas ,visas are a minefield when you have different nationalities in the family

i will keep you informed of how things are going up to our departure day

I HAVE JUST BOUGHT 2 NEW RUCKSACKS FROM OSPREY , THE REASON BEING THEY OPEN UP LIKE A SUIT CASE BUT ARE STILL A RUCKSACK SO NO STRUGGLING TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THE BAG IN A HURRY ,I BOUGHT A FARPOINT70L AND MY WIFE GOT A 40L WHATS GREAT IS YOU CAN ZIP AWAY THE CARRYING STRAPS AND ALL ZIPS ARE LOCKABLE MINE HAS A DETACHABLE DAY BAG

I BOUGHT THEM FROM SNOW AND ROCK THEY WERE THE SAME PRICE AS ON LINE AND AT LEAST YOU CAN TRY THEM ON I ALSO BOUGHT A DENTAL EMERGENCY KIT AND MEDICAL KIT WHICH CONTAIN A IV GIVING  AND SYRINGES SET FOR THOSE REMOTE AREAS WHERE THERE MAY NOT BE SO CLEAN SEE SNOW AND ROCK WEB SITE OR OSPREY SITE

my daughter molly asked mum if she could make some cookies this week ,jolanta duly obliged having great fun mixing and making a mess and when they were finished molly said i am taking these to school to sell,the next day molly came home with 25 euros for here travel jar .I was so happy that she is excited about our trip and is thinking of ways to have her own money ,this has now gone in her travel jar along with the 130euros she made from selling her old bike and some clothes that are to small for her nowmolly,cookies

first purchase

we made our first purchase this weekend after much searching we bought my wife her rucksac a nice bright grey and silver with yellow webbing 45 litres, we went not to big as we have decided to only take essentials with us and what we need when travelling we will buy local this decision was made after a dry run with what my wife wanted to take and what she could actually carry , a good idea on my part
